Hiking in the Portugal Centro Region
In the Centre of Portugal are various Long Hikes and Day Hikes. We would emphasise just a few:
Grande Rota Vale do Côa (Hike of the Côa Valley):
Hike along the River Côa from the spring until it flows into the Douro River. This valley is particularly famous for its pre-historic rock drawings along the river. The hike ends at the museum, where guided tours to the rock drawings are organised.
GR22 Grande Rota das Aldeias Históricas de Portugal (Portugal's Historical Villages's Route):
This hike connects in a circle of 565 km the historic villages of Portugal.
Day Hikes Portugal Mitte:
Walks in the Nature Park Serra da Estrela. The walks are in three districts, Manteiga, Seia and Covilhã.
